Opening Hours

Mon - Thurs: afternoons and evenings

The garden has taken up all my extra energy. It’s been a busy spring! We invested in another apple tree along with a pear and peach tree, some elderberry and blackberry bushes. My sister in law also gifted us another mulberry sapling. So now we just care for them as they grow. Our vegetable garden is productive in lettuce, bok choy, onions and radishes. I’ve been really focused on the herb garden harvesting cilantro, and drying mint for tea and oregano for cooking.

It’s almost midsummer and I am trying my best to enjoy every moment I get to spend in my garden.

Every year is a new learning experience in the process of maintaining our edible garden. Taking it one year at a time, but having a long term goal in mind, has given us the freedom to do a few things each year and observe how nature responds. Trying to avoid the overwhelm of all we want to accomplish.

That being said, this year we invested in a whole lot of mulch and will subdue some of the invasive weeds (English Ivy) that are encroaching on the plants we want to grow. Next year will be that much easier to deal with their rapid growth.

We’ve been busy harvesting berries. Mulberries mostly, which we’ve been able to freeze and I plan to make fruit leathers. We’ve had many friends come to visit and harvest their share of berries. The invitation is open to anyone local to me. I encourage all my clients to pick a few on the way in or out of treatment. 🙂
